WELCOME TO OUR TOOLBOX SITE.
When I was a small boy, I was fascinated by watching my father tackle different chores around the home with, what seemed to me at the time, his huge array of tools neatly stored away in his toolbox.
As I grew older my dad bought an old car which needed a lot of care and attention, so, off to the tool store to purchase the particular tools that were needed to fix the problem. As it was, I was the helper and couldn't wait to get my hands on the new spanner (sorry, wrench) or screw-driver or what ever it was. To me his toolbox was like an Aladdins cave of goodies.
Later on he bought an electric drill. Wow! what a cool bit of kit that was. Up until that time we struggled to drill holes with a hand held wheel brace, I think I still have one in my old toolbox, you know the place where you put old tools that you are never going to use again, but can't bear to part with.
My turn to buy my own toolbox.
So, time passes and I become apprenticed to a carpenter / joiner, so more tools, and lots of them.
Then I buy a car of my own, yes, you guessed it!!!
I buy an off-road motorcycle, so now I need specialist equipment to service the bike.
Now I am an adult and earn my living as a general builder, yes you've guessed it again, I now have big boys tools and so on and on and on.
Life without your own toolbox?
Of course we now live in age where the thought of trying to survive without a computer or a printer or a digital camera or being unable to skype our friends and family across the globe is inconceivable, so, a new era of tools etc. etc. etc.
Over the years I have had occasion to buy and use a variety of different tools, from hand tools to power tools, from cement mixers to wheel-barrows, and eve
n a computer, but I can honestly say that each piece that was purchased was needed and saved me a lot of time and energy, having the right tools for the job in my toolbox.
Some would say that I am a toolaholic (is that a real word?) maybe it's true, all I know is that there is something very tactile about having a good set of quality tools and a toolbox to keep thim in at your disposal.
